EBA guidelines on uniform disclosure of IFRS 9 transitional arrangements

On 13 July 2017 the European Banking Authority (EBA) launched a consultation on a set of Guidelines specifying a uniform format for the institutions' disclosure requirements of transitional arrangements regarding International Financial Reporting Standard 9, Financial Instruments (IFRS 9). The proposal of transitional arrangements which assume the insertion of a new Article 473a in the CRR is described in a separate article.

Institutions that will apply transitional arrangements for IFRS 9 and related expected credit losses will be required to disclose own funds and risk-based-capital and leverage ratios with and without the application of the transitional arrangements. Following the mandate in the proposed Regulation the EBA is going to consult these draft Guidelines which should ensure consistency and comparability of the disclosed data. The consultation runs until 13 September 2017.

In parallel, the EBA published a Report with some qualitative and quantitative observations of its second impact assessment of IFRS 9.
